In a world where shadows have teeth and nightmares have flesh, death is usually but a minor inconvenience.
Down in the Underworld, the annual Monsterville Ball is in full swing when without warning Duggaba, Lord of all Vampires, dies. A wooden stake protrudes from his chest and as he screams his body dissolves into smoking green sludge - this time he really means it.
The list of suspects includes werewolves, witches, demons and all manner of things that go bump in the night. But which one of these committed the worst crime in the entire Underworld – the murder of one of their own?
