Why should I choose The Murder Mystery Company?
With more than 25 years of murder mystery experience as part of the award winning CCC Events (also former Sussex Small Business of the year), we pride ourselves on quality events with successful delivery. We strive to produce innovative and creative concepts to keep our audience captivated and entertained. We work our magic in many different murder mysteries that will turn you into a serial client!
Is there a minimum or maximum number of people that can take part?
There's no such thing as a 'typical' murder mystery, and that's never been more true than when looking at the number of participants - with murders catering for between 5-500+ people, we will have something to fit your needs! That said, most of our murders are best suited for two or more teams of 5-10 people, competing with each other to solve the mystery.
Can I join another group?
Unfortunately not. We work exclusively for corporate groups and other organisations, on a private basis. If you’re looking for a ticketed or shared event, try contacting some local hotels who will be able to point you in the right direction.
How long does the event last?
We aim to keep interest levels high so will generally aim for a programme of up to three hours for our evening murder mysteries. Our murder mystery days vary in length and often we can tailor the timings to your needs.
There are a lot of options, which one would you recommend?
We obviously recommend all of our murders! However, some will be much more suited to you and your group than others. It really depends on what your preferences and requirements are, but if you call one of our murder mystery specialists they will be happy to discuss all the options with you.
Can you tailor a murder mystery for us?
Absolutely, as long as we have enough time and information we can definitely work to your requirements. Have a look at our case studies page, we have created high impact murder mysteries for high flying clients with excellent results.
How much do they cost?
The best way to answer this question is to submit an enquiry! It's virtually impossible to come up with a price list which gives you the best rates, as there are many variables involved. We will always do our best to work with your budget and have murder mysteries to fit most pockets. We often get back to you with a proposal within an hour (during working hours!)
We’ve only got a small budget, will this limit our options?
We price every event individually based on a number of factors, but as a guide they start at around £1,000 + VAT for small groups. This excludes venue and catering costs. Please give us a call on 0845 006 0606 to find out how we can help you.
How do your murder mysteries run?
We run an exciting array of murder mysteries, each with its own twists, turns and suspense laden scenario. Most of our evening mysteries unravel over dinner with the help of professional actors, costumed characters and a carefully crafted murder plot that culminates with a hilarious re-enactment of verdicts by your guests.
We aim to be at the forefront of the murder mystery scene so we have developed a number of more technical, daytime mysteries in line with popular themes as well as innovative twists to traditional plots. Our evening murder mysteries can (and often do) run over a lunchtime programme instead.
Can you work overseas?
Oh yes, murder mysteries are extremely flexible on location... from châteaux in Switzerland to retreats in rural Italy, we've run murders all over Europe!
Do you use professional Actors?
We work with incredibly talented people on all of our events and use professional (and hilarious) stage actors in many of our productions.
Do we get the chance to participate?
Of course! Our events are not a show, they are an interactive event experience. We ask you and your team to play detective by solving the clues and uncovering the murderer. We work with talented actors who will play all the main roles. In our evening murder mysteries you and your team also get the opportunity to take centre stage and act out your verdicts; donning an array of colourful outfits...
Can this work for Team Building?
Team Building is our game so all of our events promote teamwork and effective collaboration. We will kindly ask you to mix and match your guests within teams so that individual strengths are recognised and utilised in a relaxed and fun environment.
How many staff do you bring?
It really depends on the size of the group and the particular mystery chosen. We always aim to match your requirements as closely as possible so whether it’s budget, space or timings, we have the right case for you!
Do you have anything different, we did a murder mystery last year?
We pride ourselves on unique and creative murder mystery formats so no two murders are the same! Our team of experienced event coordinators will discuss your brief and find the right one for you. How much notice do I need to give you between booking and event?
Because we organise bespoke events, we want you to enjoy the full range of benefits of a high quality, well organised event. Our diary is always full so we aim to secure your booking as soon as possible, especially during busier times in the corporate calendar!
What do I have to do?
Just sit back and enjoy, most of our evening mysteries will require you to sit with your group over a tasty three course meal and solve the mystery using a variety of different methods. Other mysteries will have you much more actively involved, just let us know how much you want to participate and we’ll suggest the best options for you!
Will I be made to wear stupid costumes?
Only if you want to; all our costumes are of a high quality and will certainly be appreciated by your more extrovert guests!
When can we do these events?
Murder mysteries run all year long, there is certainly a boost in demand around the end of the year but we can cater to your needs and run these events whenever you require them.
Where can we do a murder mystery?
We are fully mobile and run murder mysteries all over the UK and Europe. It’s possible to run a murder mystery in any size room or venue as long as it’s relative to the size of the group and your specific requirements.
